Experienced Drone Pilots

Successful drone mapping missions can only be accomplished by knowledgeable and experienced pilots. Our pilots meet the FAA requirements to be certified as a remote pilot. The newest FAA regulation came into effect on August 29, 2016. The rules are commonly known as Part 107 of the Federal Aviation Regulations and apply to non-hobbyist small unmanned aircraft (UAS) operations. Despite the FAA regulations, the most critical element in drone operation safety is the remote pilot’s experience. This not only includes experience with flying the drone itself, which is critical for the safety of the public, but also includes experience in operating the camera. The way that images are taken, the overlap between images, the operation speed when images are taken, and other conditions are important for any successful drone aerial mapping project.
